Aaron Donald, Jaylen Brown leave Kanye West’s Donda Sports after rapper’s antisemitic statements

Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald and Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown have parted ways with rapper Kanye West’s Donda Sports agency following his antisemitic statements.

Rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has been in the news for the past couple of weeks for antisemitic remarks he has made. West also saw the termination of multiple partnerships, including Creative Arts Agency (CAA) on Monday and Adidas on Tuesday.

Hours after Adidas announced the end of their partnership with West, Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald announced he was terminating his relationship with West’s Donda Sports marketing agency on Twitter in a joint statement with his wife, Erica.

Around that same time, Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown also announced that he was terminating his relationship with Donda Sports

“Our family has made the decision to part ways with Donda Sports,” Donald’s statement reads. “The recent comments and displays of hate and antisemitism are the exact opposite of how we choose to live our lives and raise our children. We find them to be irresponsible and go against everything we believe as a family…”

Aaron Donald, Jaylen Brown leave Kanye West’s Donda Sports agency

Brown had previously told the Boston Globe on Monday that he condemns West’s comments, but that he would remain with the agency. One day later, Brown announced that he had come to decision to part ways with Donda Sports.

“In the past 24 hours, I’ve been able to reflect and better understand how my previous statements lack clarity in expressing my stance against recent insensitive public remarks and actions,” writes Brown. “For that, I apologize. And in this, I seek to be as clear as possible. I have always, and will always, continue to strongly against any antisemitism, hate speech, misrepresentation, and oppressive rhetoric of any kind.”

Brown had joined Donda Sports back in March of 2022. Donald signed with the agency back in May.

West had made multiple antisemitic remarks over the past couple of weeks. On Twitter, West said that he would go “death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE.” Due to the multiple antisemitic remarks he made on social media, he was suspended by Twitter and Instagram.

The rapper also made similar remarks during an interview in early October, in which he proclaimed “I can say antisemitic things and Adidas won’t drop me. Now what?”

There were calls for companies to terminate their partnerships with West after photos surfaced of individuals holding a sign over a Los Angeles freeway that read “Kanye is right about the Jews.”

Balenciaga, GAP, and Vogue have also severed ties with West over his comments.
