Here is everything you need to know regarding the feud between Ronda Rousey and Natalya.
Ronda Rousey won the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania Backlash back in May by defeating Charlotte Flair in an I Quit match. She has not defended her title on the following premium live event, Hell in a Cell, on June 5, but is set to do so at Money in the Bank on July 2 in Las Vegas, Nev. Her opponent will be Natalya, who is the daughter of the late Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart.
Recently, the two have been exchanging insults on Twitter. Not only that, but Natalya impersonated Rousey on the June 24 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Do Ronda Rousey and Natalya have beef with one another?
Both Natayla and Rousey are simply building up their match at the Money in the Bank event, as they are close friends in real life. But, their feud has caught many viewers’ attention.
Natalya won a No. 1 contender’s match that also included Shayna Baszler, Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi, Aliyah, and Xia Li on the June 4 episode of SmackDown to challene Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, a title she last held back in 2017. Then the following week, Natalya sent Rousey a message by putting her in the sharpshooter following her title defense against Shotzi.
Then, insults were exchanged between the two on Twitter.
Also involved in the feud is Shayna Baszler, who is Rousey’s friend and Natalya’s tag team partner. Rousey posted a video to her social media accounts of her conversation with Baszler ahead of the June 24 episode of SmackDown. That is when Baszler says that she can not get involved in Rousey and Natalya’s feud.
Natalya replied to the video on Twitter and tagged Baszler, saying “a real friend wouldn’t make you choose.”
Money in the Bank takes place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, July 2.
