At UFC 276, “The Eagle” Khabib Nurmagomedov will land in the UFC Hall of Fame in celebration of his historic career.
The UFC lightweight division is arguably one of the most popular divisions in MMA, with names like Conor McGregor, Tony Ferguson, Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, and Michael Chandler filling out its ranks. However, not a single one of these stars has had as big an impact or as impressive a career as Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The UFC announced first during the UFC Vegas 57 prelims that they would be celebrating Nurmagomedov’s impressive career at UFC 276 when they induct him into the 2022 UFC Hall of Fame.
Khabib Nurmagomedov remained undefeated throughout his career, despite fighting top talent like Gaethje, Poirier, and McGregor.
Nurmagomedov ended his career 29-0, retiring as the UFC Lightweight champion and departing on top. The final three fights of his career were particularly exceptional, submitting McGregor, then Poirier, then Gaethje. In his 29 victories, he earned 19 finishes and won every single round he participated in.
Since retiring, Nurmagomedov has continued to contribute to mixed martial arts, both as a coach and as a businessman. Several of the UFC fastest rising prospects have had the opportunity to have Nurmagomedov in their corner, including Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov. Outside of the UFC, Nurmagomedov has started his own MMA promotion in Eagle FC.
