Two men look to get back into the top five of the UFC‘s heavyweight rankings, as Alexander Volkov and Jairzinho Rozenstruik do battle in the main event of UFC Vegas 56.
Volkov will enter this headline fight with three wins in his last five fights, which has seen him top Walt Harris, Alistair Overeem and Marcin Tybura. Volkov is entering this battle off a loss, however, falling to Tom Aspinall via first-round submission in the main event of UFC London just a few months ago.
Prior to 2020, Rozenstruik, a kickboxer, got off to a 10-0 start in professional MMA, including a 4-0 run to start his UFC career in 2019 that earned him FanSided MMA Rookie of the Year honors for that year. In his five fights since then, however, he’s traded wins and losses consistently.
Rozenstruik’s 2021 saw him fall to Ciryl Gane in a frankly embarrassing and boring effort before a noteworthy rebound performance with a first-round TKO of Augusto Sakai. Rozenstruik’s most recent bout saw him drop a unanimous decision to Curtis Blaydes at UFC 266 in September.
