Mateusz Gamrot came away with a razor-thin decision win over Arman Tsarukyan in a competitive main event of UFC Vegas 57.
Gamrot attempted to get an early takedown, but Tsarukyan was able to get free after a struggle that lasted a little while. Tsarukyan managed to score a takedown, which came following a right hand, but Gamrot was able to get back to his feet after a brief kneebar attempt — and then got to Tsarukyan’s back while on the feet.

Gamrot seemed to have the better boxing over the first couple of rounds, but Tsarukyan continued to be aggressive and seemed to get the better end of exchanges thanks to his powerful body kicks.
Gamrot scored a brief takedown on Tsarukyan in the third round, and he continued to grapple him up when he quickly got back to the feet. Gamrot briefly brought the fight back down and got to Tsarukyan’s back. Tsarukyan got free with about 90 seconds left in the third, and the two had more technical, balanced striking.
Gamrot landed a notable headshot in the fourth round, but Tsarukyan dropped him with a spinning backfist. Tsarukyan jumped on Gamrot and tried to keep him down, but Gamrot fought back, going for a takedown. Tsarukyan landed another big body kick in the fourth round, but Gamrot answered with a takedown and nearly scored a rear-naked choke, remaining in grappling control till the round’s end.
Tsarukyan started the fifth round strong with more hard body kicks. Gamrot got the fight to the ground, but Tsarukyan fought back quickly and aggressively to get up Tsarukyan continued to land powerful strikes, but Gamrot continued to have grappling control.
