The New York Yankees could pull out all the stops for the trade deadline

We are just a few days away from the August 2 MLB Trade Deadline and, undoubtedly, there will be some shockers that teams will be able to pull off. The New York Yankees, unlike any other team in the playoff picture, could actually be selling some of their pieces so that they will have room for some of their additions.

Despite being one of the best teams in the sport, the Yankees definitely do have some areas to improve upon before the deadline. Here are five surprises that Yankees GM Brian Cashman has up his sleeve before the deadline.

5 surprises Yankees GM Brian Cashman has up his sleeve

1. The Yankees will trade Joey Gallo

Joey Gallo knows that he’s at the end of the line of his tenure with the Yankees as he should be. In his 139 games as a Yankee, he has hit .159/.291/.368 with 25 home runs, 46 RBI, and 194 strikeouts.

The Yankees traded for Royals All-Star Andrew Benintendi to replace him in left field so the writing is on the wall but considering that he has been so bad at the plate, it will be difficult to find if anyone is willing to take him. But Brian Cashman will find somebody. Even if the Yankees just get cash in return, it will be a success for the Yankees. If they can get a prospect, then Yankees fans should be dancing down 5th Avenue on August 3.
