Someone called 911 around 10:15 p.m. to report “unknown trouble” on Perdido Place near Las Flores Drive. Deputies responded but did not find a victim or a crime scene.

About 90 minutes later, the injured man showed up at an Escondido hospital with multiple stab wounds, said sheriff’s Lt. Ryan Wisniewski. He underwent surgery and was reported in stable condition.
