Three people — two who were injured — were rescued off the border wall in Otay Mesa by firefighters on Sunday morning, while a pregnant woman found nearby who had fallen also was aided, officials said.
In all, three people were taken to the hospital, officials said.
Fire officials were called shortly before 10:10 a.m. to the border near La Mesa and Airway roads. Two men and a woman were found on a ledge on the U.S. side of the wall.
Video shot by OnScene TV showed one of the men comforting the woman, who was grimacing in pain from an apparent leg injury.
A Chula Vista Fire Department engine crew extended a ladder to the ledge, and firefighters helped the woman as well as the two others down off the wall.
San Diego Fire-Rescue Battalion Chief Matt Nelson said an additional woman who was about five months pregnant had suffered a fall and was injured about 115 feet away from where the border fence rescue took place. That woman was transported to the hospital, along with the two other patients.
No information from U.S. Border Patrol was immediately available.
