7-Eleven in Spring Valley robbed

A 7-Eleven in Spring Valley was robbed early Monday by two suspects, at least one who was armed, and a clerk inside the store ended up hospitalized, a sheriff’s official said.

The robbery was reported shortly before 7 a.m. at the store on Bancroft Drive near Troy Street, said sheriff’s Lt. Michael Arens.

One the robbers was carrying a gun, Arens said.

Dispatchers were initially called by a customer who saw people running from the store. The witness went into the store and the cashier said there had been a robbery, he said.

The victim was taken to a hospital and later was able to give investigators a statement. “She was really upset by the whole thing,” Arens said.

No description of the robbers was released.
