Anne Heche investigated for felony DUI after fiery Mar Vista crash

Actress Anne Heche is being investigated for felony driving under the influence after a fiery Mar Vista crash last week, the Los Angeles Police Department said Thursday.

The incident was originally investigated as a misdemeanor, but the case was updated to a felony after a victim came forward, Officer Annie Hernandez told KTLA.

The incident remains under investigation.

The crash occurred before Aug. 5, when Heche’s speeding car came to an intersection and ran off the road and into a house.

The car came to a stop inside the two-story home and started a fire that took firefighters more than an hour to douse, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Video showed a blue Mini Cooper Clubman, badly damaged and burned, being towed out of the home, with a woman sitting up on a stretcher and struggling as firefighters put her in an ambulance.

No other injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made.

The actress was previously reported to be in critical condition and in a coma following the crash.
