An argument between two men outside a 7-Eleven store in City Heights Saturday night escalated into a shooting, with the victim suffering a gunshot wound to his leg, San Diego police said.
Police said the 29-year-old victim and the suspect were arguing about 10 p.m. in front of the store on University
Avenue near Fairmount Avenue.
The suspect briefly left the area and when he returned he allegedly shot the victim in the upper thigh, police said.
The assailant then ran away, heading north on 44th Street while the victim went into the store to seek help, police said.
Paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was described as a clean-shaven, 5-feet-10-inch tall man between the ages of 35 and 39, weighing about 200 pounds with straight dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with yellow lettering and
He was also seen driving a late-model, black four-door sedan with tinted windows, police said.
