A child was injured and at least one other person died Saturday in a lengthy shoot-out at a barbershop in Playas de Rosarito, officials said.
At least two people were detained in the aftermath of the confrontation, which took place around noon in the Reforma neighborhood near the Plaza Pabellón, officials said.
It’s unclear why armed men opened fire on the barbershop. One of the bullets struck a child believed to be 5-years-old, Rosarito police said.
Secretary of State Citizen Security Gilberto Landeros Briseño said in a press release that he believed the injured minor was taken to the Rosarito General Hospital by his own father.
Meanwhile, at least one other shooting occurred at approximately the same time near the municipality’s City Hall where a white pick-up truck was shot multiple times, according to police.
