Have you watched “Ted Lasso” yet? Not only is the writing and acting fantastic, there are some sublime musical moments. (One of my favorite scenes in the first season was the use of Elastica’s “Connection” to open the show.)

Last night I stumbled upon the Twitter account of @dancinglasso, which is just Ted Lasso doing his locker room dance to requested songs. So far my two favorites are Boyz II Men’s “Motownphilly” and Bell Biv Devoe’s “Poison.”

Now that I’ve sent you down that rabbit hole, there’s something big happening this weekend: SoFi Stadium in Inglewood is going to have its first concert and fans will be in the seats.

And in news about festivals outside of California. EDC Las Vegas has been pushed from May to October, which isn’t all that surprising. Also, Burning Man is canceled for 2021.

Speaking of Burning Man, on the “Can’t Feel the Heat” podcast this week we’re talking with composer, violinist and all-around fascinating musician HÄANA, who ended up playing with Skrillex at Burning Man a few years back. She also performed at the Do Lab with two avant-garde ballerinas at Coachella 2017. Read on!

Live music back in a big way

The Vax Live benefit, with the truly eclectic lineup that includes Eddie Vedder, J Balvin, Jennifer Lopez, Foo Fighters and H.E.R., will be taped at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, May 2. Here’s the wild part: there are going to be fans, fully vaccinated ones, in the stands at the venue.

This week on the unofficial Coachella podcast “Can’t Feel the Heat” we are talking with musician HÄANA, who played the Do Lab in 2017, the same year that Skrillex had a surprise set. They both ended up performing together later at Burning Man. Check it out on Apple podcasts and Spotify.
