Two people who died Saturday morning after their car rammed into a cement wall near an Interstate 805 off-ramp in Chula Vista were a married couple from San Bernardino County, according to county authorities.
Luis Barajas, 77, and his wife Avelina Munoz, 70, of Fontana were killed in a crash that happened shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of East Palomar Street and I-805, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
The husband and wife, who were driving to Tijuana, exited the freeway and sped through a red light at the end of the exit ramp, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office. They continued through the intersection then struck the wall.
