Man killed after being ejected from motorcycle in Anza-Borrego

A 55-year-old motorcyclist died Wednesday after he was ejected from his motorcycle and later found by a passing bicyclist in Anza-Borrego, Cal Fire officials said.

The Pine Valley resident was found about 3 p.m. on Great Southern Overland Stage Route near Agua Caliente County Park, according to Cal Fire Capt. Brent Pascua.

Bystanders performed CPR on the man until firefighters arrived, Pascua said. The man died before he could be taken to a hospital.

Investigators determined the motorcyclist veered off the road at an unknown speed, California Highway Patrol Officer Jared Grieshaber said. The rider was found on the ground near his motorcycle.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash, Grieshaber said.

The incident remains under investigation.
