Man robs 7-Eleven clerk at knifepoint in Kearny Mesa

A man robbed a 7-Eleven employee at knifepoint Monday morning in Kearny Mesa, San Diego police said.

It happened just before 10:10 a.m. at the convenience store in a strip mall off Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and Overland Drive, Officer Sarah Foster said in a news release.

The man “brandished a knife and demanded money,” Foster said. The clerk complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the robber fled.

No description of the bandit was provided by police, except that he was a man in his 20s. Foster said robbery unit detectives were investigating and no suspect was in custody as of Monday afternoon.
