Man wounded in City Heights shooting

A man in his 40s suffered a gunshot wound in a City Heights alley late Saturday afternoon, according to San Diego police.

The police department received several 911 calls shortly before 5 p.m. about gunshots fired near the intersection of 41st and Dwight streets. Officers found a man in the west alley about a block away, at 41st Street and Myrtle Avenue, with a single gunshot wound.

He was transported to a hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, according to Officer Darius Jamsetjee.

The gunman was described as Hispanic, in his late 30s, with a long black ponytail who stands 5 feet, 5 inches tall and was wearing a black shirt, black pants and a black mask.
