Motorcyclist dies after crash in La Habra

A motorcyclist died in La Habra on Monday afternoon, Aug. 2, after a crash with a car that also left a pedestrian injured, police said.

The crash happened shortly after 4:40 p.m. in the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Sheffield Drive, the La Habra Police Department said. Debris from the crash struck a nearby pedestrian, however, they were not seriously hurt, police said.

Responding officers provided aid to the injured motorcyclist while the driver of the other involved car was not hurt, police said.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel rendered the motorcyclist aid and took him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. The motorcyclist’s identity was not immediately available, pending notification of next of kin by the Orange County Coroner’s Office, police said.

Southbound Beach Boulevard was temporarily closed at Lambert Road for the investigation, police said.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

Police asked anyone who witnessed the crash or the motorcyclist prior to the crash to contact them at 562-383-4300 and ask to speak to a traffic investigator.
