Pedestrian struck by vehicle, seriously injured in Mira Mesa

A woman was struck by a vehicle and suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon in Mira Mesa, San Diego police said.

Few details of the crash were immediately available, but it happened about 2:55 p.m. at Mira Mesa Boulevard and Aderman Avenue, a few blocks east of Camino Santa Fe, according to Officer John Buttle. There was no immediate indication of how the crash occurred, but the involved driver remained at the scene.

Paramedics took the victim, whose age was not immediately released, to a hospital with unspecified injuries that police considered life-threatening, Buttle said.

Mira Mesa Boulevard remained closed in both directions as of 6 p.m., and was expected to remain closed for a few more hours Tuesday night, Buttle said.
