A fire scorched a shed at a home in Spring Valley’s La Presa neighborhood and spread to a bedroom Sunday afternoon, causing roughly $300,000 in damage, a San Miguel Fire & Rescue official said.
One resident was displaced, Battalion Chief Rich Durrell said.
The fire was reported about 4 p.m. on Helix Street, just north of Jamacha Road. It consumed a 12-foot-by-12-foot “makeshift” shed and spread to a back bedroom in the main house after the heat from the fire shattered a window, Durrell said.
He said crews made an “aggressive” attack on the blaze from inside and outside the home. No injuries were reported.
Durrell said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
