Shooting leaves 29-year-old man injured in Poway

POWAY — 

Deputies were investigating after a 29-year-old man was shot and injured Wednesday afternoon in Poway, an official said Thursday.

The shooting occurred just after 6:30 p.m. in the area of Oak Knoll Road near Pomerado Road. One 911 caller reported hearing several gunshots, sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Roberson said in a statement.

Shortly after, the victim showed up to a hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Roberson said. The victim was in critical but stable condition, the sergeant said.

No other details were released. Roberson said the investigation was ongoing.
