San Diego police arrested a 36-year-old woman early Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence after she crashed into a parked car in the Midway District, sending a man to the hospital with a severely broken leg.
Investigators determined alcohol was a factor in the collision, which occurred at just before 2 a.m. on Kurtz Street near the junction with Pacific Highway, said police Officer Sarah Foster.
A 32-year-old man was sleeping in the back seat in when the driver of a 2006 Dodge Magnum, heading eastbound on Kurtz Street and traveling at a high rate of speed, veered and rear-ended his parked vehicle, police said.
The woman fled but was found nearby and taken into custody, Foster said. The man had an open fracture to his right leg.
