Woman killed in University City crash is identified

A driver killed Monday morning in a crash near Rose Canyon in the University City area was a 39-year-old woman from San Diego, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.

Andrea Zerlina Salinas was driving north on Regents Road toward the on-ramp to eastbound state Route 52 when her Hyundai Elantra was hit by a Toyota Camry that was exiting the freeway, authorities said.

The Toyota drove over a divider in the intersection and slammed into the Hyundai. A 45-year-old man who was driving the Toyota suffered injuries that were not believed to be lift-threatening, San Diego police said Monday.
