A wrong-way motorist on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim early Thursday, April 8, caused two vehicles to crash and ran the Mercedes-Benz he was in head-on into a big rig before getting arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, the California Highway Patrol said.
It was about 12:20 a.m. when officers were called about the driver traveling west in the eastbound lanes, CHP Sgt. Matt Petrella said.
The Mercedes, near Lemon Street, crashed into the truck.
At some point the wrong-way driver also caused two other vehicles to crash, authorities said. It was unclear if he hit them.
The wrong-way driver and the big-rig driver were not hurt, Petrella said. A man in one of the other vehicles was taken away by paramedics with minor injuries.
