Police hunt thieves who broke into Riverton shops

Police are hunting a group of thieves who broke into a shopping centre in Perth’s south.

Three offenders — dressed in dark clothing — forced their way into Stockland Riverton Shopping Centre about 1.10am on Wednesday.

The thugs damaged the front doors of the centre at the Willeri Drive entrance.

Police said it was not known whether the trio managed to steal anything before fleeing the scene on foot.

The thieves were last seen heading towards High Street in dark clothing.

It is not the first time the popular shopping centre has been targeted in 2022, with a group of thieves smashing their way into a jewellery store on April 23.
