XIAMEN, July 14 (Xinhua) — Victor Soong, a Taiwanese, is the founder of the Rongjieyuan sightseeing farm in Xiang’an District of Xiamen, southeast China’s Fujian Province.
Soong came to work in the Chinese mainland in 2000 in the real estate industry. In 2013, he learned that Xiamen was putting efforts into supporting agricultural projects and developing agricultural tourism. So he started a sightseeing farm in the city.
Under the guidance of professionals, Soong has successfully planted dozens of fruits after years of careful cultivation. The farm has attracted the locals and tourists nearby.
“I love working in the agricultural industry. Xiamen shares a similar climate with Taiwan and therefore is suitable for planting tropical and subtropical fruits from Taiwan,” Soong said. “Xiamen is the place where I realize my dream. I’m happy that I’ve chosen to come here.”
