Fabio Paratici’s ban from football extended to cover Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, has had his ban from football extended worldwide.

An announcement from Fifa this morning raises serious question marks about his role at a time where the club are searching for a new manager.

Paratici received a 30-month ban, which originally applied only to Italian football, after Juventus were accused of false accounting. That ban has now been extended worldwide by Fifa, pending an appeal.

“Fifa can confirm that following a request by the Italian FA (FIGC), the chairperson of Fifa disciplinary committee has decided to extend the sanctions imposed by FIGC on several football officials to have worldwide effect,” sad the governing body in a statement.

Juventus have denied any wrongdoing.
