There they and paramedics from London Ambulance Service found a seriously injured woman suffering stab injuries.
“Despite the efforts of paramedics, the woman died around an hour later,” a Met Police spokesperson confirmed later on Sunday morning.
The Met Police added on Wednesday that confirmation that all the woman’s next of kin have been informed, and formal identification, awaits.
Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are continuing to investigate.
