Catholic Church’s sex education plan hasn’t got a prayer in the digital age

A sex education scheme that spectacularly fails to prepare young people for the realities of the world they are coming of age in is a waste of money and a waste of breath.

Many criticisms were levelled at the Catholic Church’s new sex education programme, Flourish, when it was published last summer — that it was discriminatory, for one, and outdated. However, perhaps the most egregious thing is that it was, on the bishops’ part, a pointless exercise in wishful thinking.
