Man fatally stabbed outside Escondido home; homicide investigation underway

A man died Tuesday night at a hospital after being stabbed outside an Escondido home, police said.

The stabbing was reported about 9:30 p.m. on Magnolia Avenue between Buchanan and Harding streets, in a residential neighborhood between East Lincoln and East Mission avenues, Escondido police Lt. Kevin Toth said.

Officers and paramedics found the victim wounded in front of a home, Toth said. Paramedics took him to Palomar Medical Center, where he died.

Homicide investigators remained at the scene late Tuesday night, Toth said, adding that police had not made any arrests, and he did not believe anyone had been detained. No information about the assailant was immediately available.
