Watch: Ryan Day refused to say something nice about Michigan, but Jim Harbaugh praised Ohio State

Jim Harbaugh may have had a nice thing to say about Ohio State, but Ryan Day had no interest in saying anything positive about Michigan.

Ahead of The Game on Saturday, Jim Harbaugh and Ryan Day were tasked with saying some positive things about the Ohio State and Michigan football programs, respectively.

While Harbaugh said The Horseshoe is a loud and iconic stadium, Day would not go there when it comes to The Big House. As far as the Michigan color scheme was concerned, Day is clearly not a fan of the maize and blue either. With a Big Ten East division crown on the line, this is by far and away the most important game of the Buckeyes and Wolverines’ 2021 seasons up to this point.

The winner of this game will improve to 11-1 on the year and be one game away from reaching the College Football Playoff as Big Ten Champions.

Jim Harbaugh says nice thing about Ohio State, Ryan Day won’t return the favor

This marks the sixth time Harbaugh will be coaching in The Game as the Michigan football coach. While he played for Bo Schembechler back in the day, Harbaugh has yet to lead his alma mater to victory over the Buckeyes. Though Day never played for Ohio State, he has yet to lose a game in Columbus, whether he has been the Buckeyes head coach or on Urban Meyer’s offensive staff.

Though both Big Ten powers have awesome stadiums, props to Day for not giving into FOX’s prompt about saying anything nice about the school up north. As for Harbaugh, it may be in his nature to say nice things about bitter rivals, but this cannot land well for Michigan fans who want nothing more than to beat the Buckeyes for once. This is their best opportunity to do it since 2016.

The winner of this game will go onto face the Big Ten West winner in Indianapolis next Saturday.
