Christopher Dawsknowles is unable to move about on his own, but his wheelchair was left behind when he went missing Saturday from the assisted living facility near Third Avenue and D Street, Chula Vista police Sgt. Anthony Molina said in a news release.

He was last seen being wheeled away by 32-year-old Thomas Pina Gonzalez, according to Molina, who described Gonzalez as Dawsknowles’ acquaintance. Their destination was unknown.

Dawsknowles, who is White, just under 6 feet tall and about 150 pounds, is “considered at risk due to having dementia and medication requirements,” police said. He has green eyes and gray hair that reaches his shoulders and was last seen wearing a green hospital gown.

Police have been unable to locate or make contact with Gonzalez, Molina said.

Anyone with information about the pair’s whereabouts, or anyone with contact information for Gonzalez, was asked to contact Chula Vista police at (619) 691-5151 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (888) 580-8477.
